Don & Jenifer Walsh Receive Life Time Achievement Award

Don and Jenifer Walsh were presented with the National MS Society's Connecticut Life Time Achievement Award at the Society's "MS Breakthroughs" breakfast on Sunday March 1.

Lisa Gerol, the president of the Connecticut chapter presented the award while detailing the couples work for the cause for the past 21 years. This includes their fundraising of over $380,000. Don has been part of the planning team for the Cheshire WalkMS for over 20 years. Jenifer has been a spokesperson for the MS Society for many years as well as the focus on a fundraising video for the Mandel MS Center that was recently opened at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury.

Jenifer Walsh was diagnosed with MS in 1998 while pregnant with her first child. Her husband, Don, formed the WalkMS Team named "Team Jenifer" in 2000 and they haven't looked back. This has always been one of the largest Walk teams in any site with over 100 walkers many times.

Their dedication to the cause is amazing and is the reason why they were presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
